ACM, AIS, and IEEE have produced a brochure that is available as a PDF:

SIM (Society for Information Management) in concert with MicroSoft and IBM faciliate excellant sessions for universities that are members of SIM. Frequently multiple universites from the same geographic area collaborate on these programs. In addition to holding a program for advisors and High School teachers, they have held sessions for High School Seniors and incoming University Freshman and their parents.
IBM is also facilitating discussions to get industry, academia, vendors, and government to work together to close the gap.
Unfortunately, most other associations although cognizant of the situation, are not taking formal action to address the fact that the IS/CS pipeline is smaller than the demand by industry.
